Wines

DOC region bordering Cirò, very large but much less densely planted. The most heavily cultivated areas are inland, mainly in the municipalities of Melissa and Strongoli. The soil is mostly limestone-clay, suited to the production of pleasant, fruity reds and fresh, aromatic whites. The vineyards are mainly Gaglioppo, with a smaller proportion of Greco Bianco.
