Wines

This is the main wine-producing area in Calabria. With a tradition in wine-making that stretches back over a thousand years, Cirò is a fairly huge and fragmented DOC region, made up of flat sections close to the sea and hills that stretch inland, exposed on the north and the south side. The nature of the soil is highly diverse, ranging from alluvial plains to marly clay. The climate is generally temperate. This area is the home of Gaglioppo and Greco Bianco.
